Embedded Software Engineer £35-40k + benefits Bristol This long-established Bristol-based electronics company are looking for a senior embedded software engineer, for their 6-10 strong embedded team. With a strong background in embedded software, you'll be writing code for both convential micros and DSPs (don't worry if you've got no DSP experience!). The company conducts the full product lifecycle for its complex, high-value products in house - electronic and mechnical design and manufacture are done on this site. Working with an extremely stable electronics niche, you'll be responsible for working on new versions of core products in addition to some innovative R&D work. You'll have exposure to high-quality training and get the chance to learn new, desirable skills like DSP programming, various wireless/serial comms procotols and UML design. Required skills: - Real-time embedded C software development experience Desirable (but not essential!): -UML/Yourdon or other formal design methodology - DSP programming - RTOS experience - Experience of network and/or wireless comms (CAN, TCP/IP, GSM, 3G, etc.) - Mathematical and/or systems modelling skills (MATLAB/Simulink, etc.) The successful candidate will lead design and development of code for new products, as well as taking responsibility for existing code – including necessary alterations or modifications.
