Release Manager required for this FTSE 100 service provider based in Glasgow. The Release Manager will be required to work as part of the Infrastructure Service Delivery function. The team has responsibility for ensuring that releases are implemented securely, that only authorised software and hardware is introduced into the test and live environments and that all components are traceable. The team also has responsibility for providing technical support of the configuration and version management toolset.

Key Responsibilities:
· Implementation and configuration of software releases to development, test and production environments
· Building new test environments and performing problem analysis during test cycles
· Development and support of configuration/version management tools
· Development of automated deployment tools
· Planning implementation activities and managing successful execution
· Tracking and monitoring software components to ensure compliance with audit and security procedures
· Perform configuration audits to ensure consistency between environments
· Building and maintain configuration information



Essential Experience/Skills Experience:
· Websphere, IIS, MTS, DCOM, COM+, VB6 or CICS, TSO, JCL
· Command file & REXX scripting
· Understanding of full development lifecycle – design, development, testing, implementation and support
· Knowledge of version and configuration management tools, preferably Version Manager and Dimensions
· Knowledge of Service Management methodologies following an ITIL based framework

· Strong planning, monitoring and control skills
· Ability to prioritise and organise workload within a deadline driven environment, handle changes and at times work unsupervised.
· Process orientated with a strong focus on continual improvement
