My client is a prestigious defence organisation that has identified a requirement for a Supplier Manager.
As a member of the Commercial Department you will be responsible to a number of Business Units ensuring that they receive an appropriate level of service from an existing supply base. You will also be required to write contractual terms and so the postholder must have this experience.
Supplier Managers are required to undertake Sales and Contracts negotiations as part of the Commercial Support Team. You should have a track record in the commercial area, specifically liaising with customers and major suppliers and sub-contractors, coupled with well developed problem solving, negotiating and risk identification skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills are required together with and the ability to work methodically and under pressure.
Experience in a Contracts/Commercial environment and experience with MOD would be useful.
Responsibilities: -
Evaluate proposals and tenders for areas of commercial risk and propose mitigation strategies.
Liaise with customers, major suppliers and sub-contractors.
Review purchase and sales contracts to identify risks and ensure that they are understood and managed as appropriate.
Advising on and interpreting contract terms and conditions for new and existing contracts. The negotiation of these terms and conditions on behalf of the business units.
Negotiate with customers and suppliers the terms of contract.
Work closely with the sub-contracts team.
Providing advice on pricing.
Undertake administration of Contracts on a day-today basis.
SC Clearance is highly desired.
