IT Applications Developer – V.B Developer – Database Developer

A prestigious FTSE 100 that specialises in providing bespoke applications to the Finance industry are looking for a Developer to join its team in Dublin 2.

This business has evolved so much since its evolution and we are looking for a developer to play an integral part as it moves to the future and will embrace the opportunity to work on new projects.

The Development role encompasses both project and small enhancement work in all areas of the business systems.

The role requires a very good understanding of SQL (Sybase preferable) and Visual Basic.

The Developer would be responsible for Design, Coding and testing complex components of software. He/She would also be expected to mentor more other staff and so is an excellent opportunity to step into a management role.

If you are interested in this role you will ideally have
•Practical experience of working in a commercial development environment using SQL and Relational Databases
•Experience of developing in Visual Basic (preferably VB 6 and VBA)
•Working knowledge of Transact SQL (T-SQL) databases – Sybase (Preferable) or MS SQL Server. Oracle will also be considered.
•Understanding of the overall systems lifecycle

You will be comfortable working either as part of a team or autonomously as you will be liaising with project managers and other developers, the testing team and customers on a daily basis.
